The Sewing Man is a performance in which artist DongKyu Kim uses a hand-sewing method to create a form of traditional Korean patchwork called Jogakbo (Jo-Gak-Bo). In this instance, Kim sews together receipts he accumulates during his every day life, recording his experience living and working in the United States through the H1B Visa program. Visitors are encouraged to help categorize receipts and speak with the artist as he constructs his tapestry.
An artist talk will take place in the Lares Banquet Room after the performance. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
In the event of inclement weather the performance and talk will take place on Tuesday, February 27th at the same times and locations.
