Abington Campus Choir, Chamber Singers, & Concert Band Performance

The PSU Abington Campus Choir, Chamber Singers, and Concert Band present a spring concert April 26, 2023, at 7:30 pm in Sutherland 9.
Every period in history has its challenges with dishonesty, violence, and needless tragedy. The theme of the music the choirs will sing this spring is “innocence.” Repertoire includes Whitacre’s hauntingly beautiful “The Seal Lullaby,” Sarah Quartel’s  lilting “Sing, my Child,” Matthew Armstrong’s ode to nature and introspection “There Is a Pleasure,” and the eternally optimistic Muppet anthem, “The Rainbow Connection.” The Concert Band takes things in a different direction and will perform a genre-spanning program that includes Erik Sherburne’s catchy “Don’t Let Up,” an arrangement of Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition,” and Stevie Wonder’s super hit, “Superstition.”
There will be a 15-minute intermission and the concert will end at around 9 pm. Members of the groups include current students, honored alumni, and valued faculty and staff of PSU Abington. All are welcome to attend this free concert.
