There is little hope for Penn State when it comes to football. There has been much debate as to whether the season was going to happen or not. But after September 5th, 2020 all doubts have been confirmed. The Big 10 and PAC-12 organizations have cancelled the 2020 season for now.

However, Penn State football fans rejoice, as the Penn State football program is still going strong. Although the season has been postponed, regular practices are still going on. The NCAA Football Oversight Committee has allowed teams that have delayed their season to carry out a 12 hours a week training program. Five of those hours consist of on-field practice with players wearing practice equipment and avoiding contact, while the other seven hours consist of lifting, conditioning, and reviewing tapes with coaches.

University athletic director Sandy Barbour and head football coach James Franklin have had their eyes set on a potential start to a new season in the spring. With the players sticking to new and more strict guidelines, some light shines at the end of the tunnel.
