As Fall and Spooky Season begin, here is a list of fall activities to do with friends and family. With on-campus and virtual events as well as things to do within about a half-hour drive of campus, there is something for everyone to get their fall on! Remember to wear your masks when required and stay safe!
On-Campus Virtual Events
These events are held via zoom! Each link includes all meeting ID and password information.
- The Magic of Gary Ferrar
- October 7th, 5:00 PM, hosted by Hillel
- An hour of magic with Gary Ferrar, mentalist and magician.
- Halloween Costume and Baking Party
- Friday, October 30th, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Dress up and make some treats on zoom!
On-Campus Events
These events are held on campus, RSVP is required. Each link will take you to the event page where you can do so. Masks are required.
- Painting Without a Twist (October 5th)
- 12:15 PM, Duck Pond Tent, hosted by Student Engagement and Leadership. Masks are required!
- An hour-long painting session led by a painting instructor just like Painting with a Twist.
- Painting Without a Twist (October 22nd)
- 3:00 PM, Duck Pond Tent, hosted by Student Engagement and Leadership. Masks are required!
- Another opportunity for an hour-long painting session led by a painting instructor.
Off-Campus Events and Things to do
These events and suggestions are a short drive away from campus!
- The Philly Drive-In presented by T-Mobile
- Fairmount Park, Center City Philadelphia, about 35 minutes away from campus.
- Drive-In Halloween movies all October long! Tickets are free but do not guarantee entry. These are first come first serve events, so plan on arriving early to get a good spot. The next set of tickets are available starting October 8th at 10 AM.
- Fall Festival Flea Market
- Saturday, October 17th, 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM
- Smart Décor & More
- About a 20-minute drive from campus! Masks are required for this event!
- Fall Festival complete with a flea market, food, and other activities.
- Fall Food Truck Festival
- October 24th, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Hosted by the Shops at Valley Forge
- About a half-hour drive from campus, the site does not state if masks are required.
- A free admission and parking food truck festival at the Shops at Valley Square with pay as you go food trucks and other vendors.
- Painting with a Twist
- Price range $35+
- Jenkintown Studio, a short 25-minute drive from campus. Masks are required.
- Good for a group, and for those that like the twist of bringing in beverages and snacks that the on-campus version doesn’t offer.
- Choose from fall and Halloween themed canvases this month; it’s Fall y’all.
- Hammer and Stain
- Price range $30+
- The Holland Studio is a short 25-minute drive from campus.
- Best with 2+ people; masks are required.
- Hammer and Stain is a cute little shop where you can create your own woodwork project, doormat, and other décor with the help of their team. They offer in-house sessions with both private and public workshops, and also have take-home kits for purchase!
- Choose from Fall and Halloween themed workshops this month to add to your fall décor.
- You leave the same day with your own beautiful creation! They encourage bringing in snacks and drinks for your workshop!
- Oktoberfest
- Tickets are $4, masks are required, and the event is outdoors.
- Saturday, October 17th
- The Pennypack Mill, a 15-minute drive from campus
- Flea market and Craft Fair: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Kid-friendly activities and games: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- DJ & Live band!
- Food, games, face painting, music, and shopping!
