Trying to find things to do that are Covid-safe and outside of the comfort of your apartment can be difficult; especially if you are from out-of-state. Here are ten things that you can do to stay active and get some fresh air:
1. Becky’s drive-in and On Location Cinema are two very affordable places to go. Entry is around $10 and you can typically see around two or three movies in one night.
2. Spruce Street Harbor Park is definitely one of my favorite places to go. There is no entry fee as it is a public park and the scenery is beautiful. It is a huge park and a great place to relax and watch the sunset.
3. If you’re looking for a closer place to visit, North Hills Park is within walking distance of College Station and Lions Gate. It is a great place to relax and get schoolwork done. A great place to enjoy the nice weather and catch up on school.
4. Willow Grove Park Mall is about five minutes from Abington Campus and a great place to go shopping! Masks are provided to you for free at the door if you do not have one. Some Covid-safe measures are: limiting the amount of people allowed in each store and sanitizing bathrooms hourly, along with keeping “high-touch” areas clean.
5. Yard House, in the Willow Grove Mall, is a must-visit. It is a bar and restaurant and has outdoor seating if you feel more comfortable eating outside. From pasta, to pizza, to seafood, to burgers, the food never disappoints, and it’s all at a reasonable price.
6. Shady Brook Farms is another great place to visit. They have sunflower fields, places to eat, Halloween events, and light shows around the holidays. Grab a ticket to Fall Fest for $12-18.
7. Speed Raceway is also a favorite places to go if you enjoy go-karting. It is located in Horsham, Pa and is around fifteen minutes from Abington. They also have contactless payment and sanitize everything after it is used.
