There are two different types of easy homemade mask templates and/or directions that you can follow. Most masks are affordable, but some of us live paycheck to paycheck and might not be able to afford a pack of masks; certain masks with patterns or different designs are more costly. However, I have some tips and ideas to help you get your desired mask on a budget.
Some items that you can use as the “main” part of your mask could be old t-shirts you might not be wearing anymore. If you want fun patterns for your mask use old socks or bed sheets. Additionally, any other type of material can be reused for a mask; such as old dish towels, thin blankets, or maybe something you found at the thrift store!
Some things you can use for the “filter” are: if you have an old PPE mask that you planned on throwing out, you can cut it into a smaller rectangle and slip it in the new mask. To make use of the whole mask you can cut off the elastic ear pieces and save them for your new mask. You can also add the wire from the nose band in your homemade mask to make it fit your face better.
