Are you an aspiring photographer? Have you taken a photo that you believe captures the essence of 2020 (perhaps a burning dumpster)? Do you like free money? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should enter the Abington Art Appreciation Club’s “Essence of 2020 Photography Contest!” Any Penn State Abington Student is welcome to enter the contest, you do not need to be a member of the club to enter. All submissions must be emailed to AAAC@psu.edu with a short description of how your photograph describes 2020.
Categories are:
Progress
Power
Peace
Pain
Each submission must belong to a category, and the winner of each category will receive a $50 Amazon gift card! The deadline for submissions is December 6, and winners will be announced via Zoom on December 9. More details, including the time and link for the announcement of the winners, can be found here: https://engage.abington.psu.edu/event/6555452.
The Abington Art Appreciation Club “aims to introduce students to the critical analysis of all forms of art. This organization offers bi-weekly presentations of art subjects and thesis, trips to museums, galleries, and other hubs of artwork.” Due to the pandemic, meetings and trips are now virtual, but students of all majors interested in the arts are invited to join the club for critical analysis and casual discussion of a variety of artforms and artists. More information on AAAC can be found here: https://engage.abington.psu.edu/organization/abingtonartappreciation.
