On Sunday, November 16, at approximately 5:50pm a man was shot in the parking lot of The Willow Grove Park Mall near the entrances of Nordstrom Rack and Primark just 6 minutes away from the Penn State Abington campus.

The shooting occurred just ten minutes before the mall closed at 6 p.m.  The mall was not evacuated because investigators noted that the shooter had already left the area.

According to Abington Police the man was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound where he was listed in stable condition and expected to be okay. 

As of November 17, Deputy Police Chief Kelley Warner said that the victim was still in the hospital recovering and had not yet been released. It is unknown whether or not the shooter was a mall shopper but it was recorded that the incident was not random. 

The shooting is under further investigation and there are no further updates at this time.
