Finding a job before graduation is a process. There’s making connections, applying, interviewing and lots of research. Navigating the job world proves difficult in even the best of situations.
With the pandemic, the search becomes more complicated. Some professions are at a stand-still because of closures, others have migrated to working from home and even downsizing. The office of Career and Professional Development is holding a series of webinars through the month of December for seniors in order to help navigate job searching during this unprecedented time.
The first webinar event discussed effective strategies and some services available from the Office of Career and Professional development, including resume help, mock interviews, and other general help regarding searching for a job and one’s education.
Some strategies that were suggested were to market yourself, note your strengths and weaknesses, be confident and most importantly, don’t do it alone. The office of Career and Professional Development is here to help students and alumni.
The rest of the webinars in this series cover tips to make your job application stand out, an event to help seniors connect to alumni in their fields, interview techniques and an informational session to teach students how to use the job search tools offered by the Career and Professional Development office.
The link to this event series can be found here. The events are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 PM. They are virtual, and the recordings can be sent to your PSU email if you Rsvp to the events here.
