National Signing Day, also known as the first Wednesday of February, has become highly publicized in college football as athletic programs finish months of rigorous recruiting.

The Nittany Lion Football program finalized their 2021 recruiting class by signing sixteen incoming freshman and five transfer student athletes. 247Sports, a leading news source for college athletics, ranked the Nittany Lions recruiting class in the top 25 in the country. Twenty-one football players officially signed to play at Penn State.

Some notable signees include Langdon Tengwall, Lonnie White Jr. and Kalen King.

Tengwall is the highest ranked student-athlete that signed to Penn State. He’s a six-foot six, 300 pound offensive lineman and is the highest ranked player in the state of Maryland. He is expected to make an immediate impact as incoming freshman arrive later this summer.

Another student-athlete who is expected to make an immediate impact on the team is Pennsylvania’s own Lonnie White Jr. He is a senior at Malvern Prep and is ranked 27th nationally at his position, wide receiver.

The Nittany Lions football team had a tough 2020 season, went 4-5 and were not invited to a bowl game. However, they won their last four games of 2020 and their program wants to continue this momentum into next season by bringing in some of the most talented student-athletes in the country.
