Penn State University celebrates Campus Pride Month this April. This celebration will include month-long events that promote inclusion and diversity in the Penn State community. All Penn State campuses will host different activities.
On April 13 at 3pm, Penn State Abington will host the “Student LGBTQ+ Allyship 101 Workshop.” This workshop helps students to understand what it means to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer. It will also help students learn how to properly use and identify gender neutral pronouns. This event will be held virtually, and the Zoom link can be found via Engage.
There will be Social Media Pride Shoutouts in which individuals and organizations will spread positive messages through Penn State’s social media platforms. They will be posting inspirational videos of pride positivity throughout Penn State’s different campuses.
Until April 23, The Pride Run is available for sign-ups and students must register for this event. Students can virtually run or walk a 5K in support for pride month. Students will also receive a patch for participating in this event.
There will be other virtual events held through different Penn State campuses, although students from other campuses are more than welcome to attend.
