Get into the spirit of the Halloween season by learning something new about some creepy classics!
On October 27th, from 12:15 to 1:15 in Lubert Commons, The Abington Review (our award-winning campus literary magazine) and the Queer Student Alliance will be hosting a joint event called “Scared Queer,” where students are invited to come celebrate the intersection between queerness and horror.
Learn which of your favorite horror films have hidden queer themes, and which ones have queer voices behind and in front of the camera. A panel of students will speak about their own personal favorite queer horror movies.
All students are invited to attend and get into the spooky spirit!
Students interested in speaking at the event should email The Abington Review’s vice president, John Mitchell, at jim5582@psu.edu with their name and the topic of queer horror they are interested in talking about (i.e. a specific movie or writer). If a student is interested in speaking at the event but isn’t sure what topic they want to speak on, John will help find one.
Learn more and RSVP on the event’s Engage page.
