It’s almost summer, and with Spring Semester classes letting out, a lot of us will have extra free time. With so many options to fill our days, it can be hard to find the perfect activity. Luckily, there are many local places that offer unique experiences and opportunities.
To make it easier to find some of these activities, I have compiled a short list of things to do and places to go that are all within an hour of campus.
- At Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary, you can participate in a variety of activities, including snuggling with goats, feeding goats, and hiking with goats. You can also cuddle with baby cows and kittens. Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary is located at 1314 North Limekiln Pike in Dresher, PA.
- If you visit Peace Valley Lavender Farm, you can pick your own lavender or take a tour and learn more about the plant. They also have a gift shop. Peace Valley Lavender Farm is located at 802 New Galena Road in Doylestown, PA.
- Ringing Rocks Park has a large field of boulders that ring when you strike them, so make sure to bring your own hammer! The park is also home to the largest waterfall in Bucks County. Ringing Rocks Park is located at Ringing Rocks Road in Upper Black Eddy, PA.
- If you drive to Red Buffalo Ranch, you can go on a guided trail ride through Evansburg State Park. Trail rides are either 1 or 2 hours, but the ranch also offers 3 hour outings where you can choose to have either brunch or lunch included. Red Buffalo Ranch is located at 1106 Anders Road in Collegeville, PA.
Although these are just a few of the many places you could visit this summer, they could definitely make for some appealing adventures!
