On September 17, the Jenkintown Arts Fest spanned the ten blocks between West Avenue, Leedom Street, Summit Avenue, and Greenwood Avenue. The event was from 1-6pm, and I had the privilege of working the whole event and interacting with many festivalgoers during that time.

Genevieve Chambers, manager of Painting with a Twist, noted that the festival “does always increase our attendance in the fall as folks are reminded that we are here or introduced to us.”

Painting with a Twist has been involved in the Jenkintown Arts Fest for approximately the past five years, and the company always looks forward to the event as a way to boost awareness of the brand and activity for the fall and winter. This year, the company came prepared with their brand-new Pop-In Project, which began just a few weeks before the Arts Fest.

Chambers is hopeful about the future of art in Jenkintown: “We did push to let folks know about our newer ways to create in the studio, so we are hoping for the best!”

Chambers also mentioned that she felt the highlight of the event was “just the opportunity to be in the community and connect with other artists and vendors local to the area.”

Overall, the Jenkintown Festival of the Arts had a very positive turnout, despite the less-than-ideal weather. If you missed it this year, don’t worry! The Fest will be back in no time next September!
