Never too Old for Costumes?!
Halloween is a holiday favorite for children, giving them a chance to be their favorite superhero or princess. By the time adolescence rolls around, many teens find themselves questioning whether or not they are too old for Halloween. An article written by Mahita Gajanan for Time Magazine states that most children stop dressing up and trick-or-treating between 12 and 16 years old.
However, that’s not stopping students at Penn State Abington from dressing up to class for Halloween, even the week before.
On Friday, October 27th, the Anime and Gaming Association held their annual costume contest to celebrate Halloween. Students were welcome to participate and dress as their favorite characters whether they were part of the club or not.
“It was really fun to see people enjoy and express themselves in costumes from their favorite games and shows,” says Ramisha Karim, Vice President of AAGA. “It’s another way we unite through the entertainment we all commonly enjoy.”
Though there were winners and prizes, the main focus of the event was enjoying each other’s presence and uniting also to celebrate opening day of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, which also released on Friday.
