When many people think of a witch, they imagine someone with a black pointy hat and a sea-sick skin tone; a Halloween caricature, akin to a fictional character like the Wicked Witch of the West or a horror movie trope like The Blair Witch Project. There have been so many misconceptions and myths surrounding witchcraft, but even as the negative connotations prevail, modern witches continue to carve their own path and defy stereotypes.

How Brian Flores’ Lawsuit is Changing the NFL

On February 1st, 2022 Brian Flores filed a lawsuit against the NFL for discriminatory hiring practices. Amongst other things, Flores alleged that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross attempted to bribe him to lose games, while the Broncos and Giants only gave him an interview for the sole purpose of fulfilling the controversial Rooney Rule.  The teams have all denied that this was the case, but NFL commissioner Roger Goodell  later released a statement on February 5th that gave Flores’ lawsuit weight and may even lead to changes in the league’s hiring practices.

For fans of Mass Effect, this past November 7th was no ordinary N7 Day. On this day, BioWare published a cryptic poster stating “Mass Effect Will Continue”. For those unaware, N7 is the highest grade in Earth’s Alliance Systems, a program that recruits the top officers from all Earth’s different military branches. Commander Shepard, the protagonist of the Mass Effect trilogy, holds this rank, and fans annually celebrate the trilogy on November 7th. Mass Effect is so widely popular for its storytelling, repercussive decisions, classes, paragon/renegade options, general gameplay, and open world(s).
