Disney’s Mulan was a beloved classic of 1998, despite not being one-to-one with the original Chinese poem. When a live-action version was announced, devoted followers raised skepticism, but more so this time around. By near launch, the remake has fallen under scrutiny for controversies surrounding its adaptation, casting, and filming, highlighting how far Disney is willing to go with its questionable ethics.
