Welcome to our inaugural Virtual Spring Academic Recognition Ceremony. We are pleased that you will help us celebrate what our campus is all about: Academic Excellence. This is not how we envisioned celebrating with you this Spring, but we are pleased to launch a new approach, with creativity and innovation, to celebrate your academic achievement – a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher!
As you peruse the pages of the Academic Recognition Ceremony Program, you will see that nearly 300 full time and part time students achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher!
You will also see that 63 students have achieved this success for 2 years; 32 students have achieved this for 3 years and 14 students have achieved this for 4 years! That is incredible!
We have also acknowledged our Veteran and Military students, and Honors students. If we were together, I would ask those who are the first in their families to attend college to please stand and be recognized. If this is you, please know how that we are very proud of you!
We also celebrate students who have received Penn State University wide awards: The Evan Pugh Scholar Award, The President Sparks Awards and The President’s Freshman Award. These are a great achievement by our students.
Traditionally, The Distinguished Teacher Award and The Teaching Award for Part-Time Faculty are awarded at the Academic Recognition Ceremony but this year, they will be presented at a later date.
Again, thank you for celebrating with us in this virtual world. Though we are not together today, we will see each other again. In these times it is important to acknowledge and celebrate the great work of our students. Know we are proud of you and celebrate you!
