As I write this last blog post of the year, I look back with a lot of happiness and pride. Going into this school year last August, I was incredibly nervous to say the least. Life was much different then, and coming back to school constituted more anxiety and uncertainty than ever before. Despite all of this, I picked myself up and went into the school year with the hope that things would improve.

Simply put, this school year truly exceeded any and all of my expectations. I am so blessed with the relationships I have gained and the people I have met. The classes I have taken have expanded my mind in ways that I never thought possible, resulting in a much wider worldview and better tools to deal with the problems that face our world today. Despite it being difficult to picture sometimes, perhaps being in a bad situation gives you the best opportunities and a greater willingness to expand yourself in tons of different ways (something to remember in case you feel stuck).

For this upcoming summer, I did something a little bit drastic. I turned down an internship in order to do service. Scratching your head? So was I for a little bit. But, I will be helping to rehabilitate marine animals that get stranded on shore in New Jersey, so I have nothing to complain about. It fits my personality better, as I helped a mother duck and her ducklings cross a four lane road today, promptly stopping traffic to waddle behind the little family to keep them safe. If anyone is around the area this coming summer, let me know! We can be beach bums together 🙂

There is so much to look forward to in the upcoming months – working, volunteering, taking my LSATs, and trying to start a blog (my clothing addiction is intensifying). However, with the positive experiences of this year behind me, I feel much more confident in pursuing my future and just having fun with it all.

As finals come around the corner, I wish each and every member of the PLA good luck – I know you will all dig deep and perform with flying colors. After the madness that will be these upcoming weeks, just have fun with everything you do and learn lessons along the way!
