I cannot believe that this is my last Presidential Leadership Academy (PLA) blog. For the past four years, I’ve been writing approximately one blog per week for PLA or for my freshman year Rhetoric and Civic Life course. It’s strange to think that I will most likely never have to write a blog for anything again. Today, I actually feel like I will be graduating in a few weeks. I have less than one week of class left before finals. But at the same time, it still feels as if graduation is several years away.
I officially did my last presentation for my Immunology and Infectious Disease major on Monday, and I gave my last presentation for my Sociology major earlier today. I am also completely done with my Schreyer Honors College and Paterno Fellows Program requirements. Yet with all of these lasts, I still can’t imagine walking at graduation in 15 days.
However, some of the lasts make my impending graduation feel real. I officially moved many of my winter clothes out of my room. Also, I officially have worn my winter jacket (hopefully) for the last time, and I have finished all of my undergraduate level research. This upcoming weekend is my last weekend that I will spend at Penn State in the near future, excluding graduation weekend.
After I graduate, I think that I am most looking forward to spending a summer with my family. I have spent the last three summers three hours away from them, so I am extremely excited to spend the summer with my parents. I will have a lot of planning and moving for where I go to medical school, but it will be nice to be able to plan all of this from home. Overall, I am so excited for graduation and my future.
