During one of the classes two weeks ago we had the opportunity to create moldboards regarding what we wanted out of PLA. I had the chance to share mine but ended up stumbling over my own words and didn’t get out exactly what I wanted to say. So I am going to over it now, and explain what all of the different images mean: http://www.gomoodboard.com/boards/v9kkve9_/share. The first image is of two people debating, and I included this because I hope that through the program I get to continue exploring new ideas as well as different frameworks of thinking. The second is an image of Old Main, the meaning of this was growing closer to Penn State both in spirit and college pride. Similar to the people debating, I included a brain to represent my desire to learn new concepts and ideas that I otherwise would not have considered. The next two are symbols of my inner goals to be both more studious and eat healthier than I have in the past. Additionally, I included two ideas that I think are integral to the meaning of PLA which are leadership and teamwork. I think that these are both important and work hand in hand together, by growing my leadership skills I can not only more effectively communicate my ideas but also have more power in solving pertinent issues. Additionally, I hope that I continue to meet interesting people and make new close friends through PLA. The last image is representative of my goal to travel more in order to learn more about other cultures and get to see things that I previously never had. I am excited about this one as I will be going on my first PLA trip to Washington DC in a little under a week from now!
