Choosing to run for a sorority exec position is a lot like entering a haunted house: those who have gone through the horror themselves will warn you of everything ahead, frighten you with their nightmarish stories, and advise you turn around while you can. But like any naïve character in a scary movie, you tune their wise words out and walk on in with nearly zero preparation. Stuck in fight-or-flight, its a never ending battle until you come up with a plan and find your way out.

Today, I made it out. Alive.

When I first took on my role as Panhellenic Delegate for my sorority at the beginning of the year – the same time I was enrolled in Honor 301 – I was able to analyze my strengths and shortcomings as a leader, my style of communication and teamwork with peers, and my ability to lead others in class alongside carrying out the responsibilities of my position.
