Happy THON everyone! This year has been my first year being involved with THON! Last year, I was able to attend the Danceathon for a few hours and it was one of the most groundbreaking experiences I have ever lived. Being a part of a movement much bigger than myself through Penn State truly put so many things into perspective. It was one of the many experiences that I’ve encountered where I have been overwhelmingly grateful to have chosen Penn State as my home. Throughout this experience I cried, I laughed and above all, I danced for a cause: pediatric cancer. I dance so kids can be kids, so families aren’t burdened through one of the worst experiences of their lives, and I dance for a cure. This year, I have partaken in fundraising activities, I’ve created a donor drive, and I’ve attended THON! It’s been an amazing educational experience where I’ve gotten to learn more about Four Diamonds and THON. Today, we are on day two of THON and I’ve already lasted 14 hours (and counting) on my feet. It has been a beautiful experience thus far because I’ve been waiting for this weekend for a whole year and because I’m also well accompanied. Although I have lost my voice, my feet are in pain, and my sleep schedule is close to nonexistent, there is nothing that I wouldn’t do For The Kids.

If you are already involved in THON, keep doing great! If you are yet to be involved in THON, don’t miss out! We are fortunate enough to be home to the largest student-run philanthropy on the planet!! Make your mark and change lives along the way!
