This past weekend, I finally sat down at the piano after weeks of being swamped with classes and clubs. At first, my fingers felt clumsy, like they’d forgotten how to move. But after a few minutes, the patterns came back, and it hit me: discipline doesn’t disappear, it just waits for you to reconnect with it. Playing the piano made me think about how we learn and grow in other areas too. I think mastery doesn’t happen overnight, it’s built through repetition and patience. Whether it’s understanding academic concepts or developing leadership skills, progress comes from sticking with it, even when it’s frustrating or slow. I also noticed how interpretation matters. A score gives you the notes, but how you play them is up to you. Leadership feels a lot like that: the principles are there, but how you apply them is what makes it yours. Going back to the piano reminded me that growth is about balancing structure with creativity—and that’s something I want to keep in mind in PLA and beyond.
