Humility, Honesty, and Heart (although he often interchanged heart with humanness)
On its own, emphasizing these three things as a leader is a very useful leadership strategy (if you can even call the genuine nature of the 3H Core a “strategy”) to gain the trust and respect of those around you. But, sfter hearing Rakowich share his story, I am so much more impressed with the way he discovered and learned to articulate these values which have made him into a successful leader.
If you haven’t read Transfluence, are interested in his podcast Off the Rak (which includes an episode featuring Dr. Bendapudi), or if you’re just interested in learning more about this awesome Penn Stater, he has a website: waltrakowich.com. I definitely encourage you to check it out!
Hi!
I was also part of this group who got to see him speak and to anyone reading this comment, it was a treat!
I absorbed a lot of his sentiments regarding conflict resolution and how to deal with leaders who may present you with difficulties. As someone in many organizations, I have encountered situations similar to the one that Rakowich explained during his talk. As a more passive person, it was a bit difficult for me to manage but after hearing his advice, I feel as if I could move forward and approach my situations differently. His 3H mindset deeply resonated with me as well because they match my values heavily. Humility is one of my top priorities and I try my best to emphasize that in any position I am in. I am hoping to purchase his book very soon so I am very excited to learn more from him!
