RESEARCH FUNDING
University Park Centers
University Park has a number of centers and institutes that are dedicated to funding faculty research and scholarship (e.g., Social Science Research Institute or SSRI). One mechanism of funding is the Summer Research Collaboration Fellowship, which aims to support collaborations between faculty at the commonwealth campuses and faculty to University Park or the College of Medicine.
Faculty Development Grants and Internal Monies
Penn State Abington has numerous internal funds to which faculty can apply for funding. These include Faculty Development Grants, Summer Faculty Fellowships, Summer Grants Fellowships, Innovative Teaching Fellowships, Outstanding Research Fellowships, and the Paul Hutta Endowment for Teaching Innovation, as well as the Career Development Professorship. More information about these can be found at the Faculty Handbook.
National Science Foundation Research at Undergraduate Institutions Grants
Penn State Abington is classified as a Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI). As a result, government agencies may set aside additional funding through which research and scholarship at such institutions can be funded. The National Science Foundation (NSF) has a special category of funding for Research at Undergraduate Institutions (RUIs) to which PSU Abington Faculty can apply. Additional information concerning this opportunity can be found here. Please feel free to contact ACCESS if you would like some insight into how to frame your grant and why Penn State Abignton is an ideal place to fund such research.
