FACULTY WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS
ACCESS workshops are offered throughout the academic year and are often part of the Abington Academy at the start of the academic year. If you would like to request that a specific workshop be offered at a different time, or would like to suggest a new workshop for faculty, please contact us.
Workshop: Data Collection Tools
The workshop will focus on tools related to data collection, including the Penn State Abington online survey and study tool, the Penn State Abington Participant pool, Mechanical Turk, and other equipment including heart monitors and tablets for taking research into the field.
Workshop: Navigating the IRB
The Internal Review Board is the first step researchers must take after developing their study idea. This workshop will focus on the IRB process and tactics to navigate the process quickly and painlessly.
Workshop: Utilizing University Park Resources
Being a faculty member at Penn State Abington means there are a multitude of resources available from University Park to support your scholarly efforts. Some of these are competitive throughout the University but others are available only to those at the colleges and campuses. This workshop will focus on what resources are available and how to access them.
Workshop: Getting Money – Resources for research, travel, and other needs
Penn State Abington has several funds available to help faculty members, but sometimes, it isn’t clear what these sources are, how they can be used, and how and when to go about applying for them. This workshop will focus on these issues.
