STUDENT WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS
ACCESS offers workshops on a range of topics throughout the academic year and also highlights other campus events that align with our mission. If you would like to request a special session of an existing workshop, or suggest a new workshop, please contact us.
Workshop: Getting Involved with Research
Research experience is a critical skill for the workplace (and graduate school) but many students don’t take advantage of the scholarly and creative opportunities here at Abington and within the community. This workshop provides an overview of current opportunities for Abington students along with practical advice on how to connect with an existing research lab or community group.
Event: ACURA Recruitment and Poster Fair
Abington College Undergraduate Research Activities (ACURA) is a hallmark of the student experience here at Abington. By pairing students with faculty mentors for a year long project, ACURA is a great way for students of all levels to get access to valuable experience and world-class faculty. The ACURA recruitment fair occurs in early September and the Poster Fair occurs every April.
Event: University Park Undergraduate Exhibition
Every April, Penn State students from all over the commonwealth travel to State College for the annual undergraduate exhibition of research and creative works. A great venue for highlighting the efforts of Abington students and faculty alongside their peers, this large event is a goal that all students who are working on projects outside of the classroom should aim toward at the end of the year.
