The Accessibility Users Group (AUG) brings together staff from across the University who are interested in accessibility in the context of education. Current members include instructional designers, instructional production specialists, instructional design assistants, multimedia specialists, accessibility consultants, and web developers. Our group was formed in 2014 with 11 original members. Over time we have grown to over 80 members. The variety of strengths and perspectives within the group enables us to efficiently identify and implement accessibility solutions and share them with the wider Penn State community.
In 2020 we were recognized by the University as an official community of practice, focusing on accessibility. We remain committed to our focus on the intersection of accessibility, technology, and education.
We meet monthly via Zoom and manage our group communications in our Accessibility Users Group Teams space.
