Presenters:
Dina Dzhussubaliyeva is a doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, academician of the international academy of informatization under the UN General Consultative Status, academician of the international academy of pedagogical sciences, honorary doctor, professor of the Burgas Free University (Bulgaria).
All her professional and labor activities are associated with high schools. She has made a significant contribution to the integration of digital technologies and development of distance education in Kazakhstan. As a researcher and a top manager of high schools and as a vice-rector she was responsible for informatization of educational process at universities, contributed to the promotion of the first educational programs of distance learning in Kazakhstan.
She worked at Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, first vice-rector for educational and methodical work of the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute (1989-2002), vice-rector for educational work at Kazakh National University (2002-2011). She has worked as the rector of the Almaty Humanitarian Technical University (2011 -2013).
Currently, she is the professor of the Department of Postgraduate Education at Ablai khan Kazakh University of International Relations & World Languages, a director of the Institute of Informatization of the professional education.
She is the author of more than 200 articles, monographs and teaching aids, majority of her work are devoted to the problems of distance learning, digitalization of education and higher education.
Under her supervision, 4 doctoral and 15 candidate dissertations, more than 30 master’s theses were defended.
She is as an active member of the Women’s Republican Council of Kazakhstan, devotes a lot of time to spiritual and moral education of young people, their patriotism, and healthy lifestyle.
Yerkinay Yelubay
She is a 3-year Ph.D. student at the department of Pedagogy & Psychology, at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. Her research is devoted to the development of future teachers’ digital competencies through distance learning technology.
She considers, MOOCs have a high potential to develop digital skills and competences in education. By promoting open, continuous, lifelong learning MOOCs give chances not to stay just consumers of technology or OER but helps to create and share contents, digital objects, build knowledge, learn, and socialize.
MOOCs contribute to develop digital society’s requirements as collaboration and creativity. By blogging, simply commenting and engaging in discussion forums future teachers learn/practice functioning effectively in online environments and develop digital contents, identify, filter information. MOOCs develop learners creative and information skills too.
