With the abrupt shift to distance learning due to COVID -19 pandemic, K-12 students globally are exposed to the internet more than ever before. We as educators and parents should be aware of the new threats that this brings to students and prepare to protect them. Such threats include cyberbullying, access to inappropriate content, online predation, and many more. This presentation will shed light on recent review of the literature that shows the unknow truth and what measures and policies to adopt to ensure the digital safety of our students and children.

Heba Nuseibeh, earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Florida.

Heba is eLearning director and an experienced adult educator and trainer. Over 15 years of teaching experience in both distance learning and face-to-face methods, in higher education and K-12 settings.  A strong advocate for integrating technology in learning and teaching. I constantly strive to create a collaborative and demanding online learning environment for all learners and promote a socio-cultural and diversity approach situated in culturally responsive pedagogy.
