Recent decades have witnessed unprecedented surge in globalization and global interconnections. Last March, the world faced great uncertainty that threatened its existence and underlined its vulnerabilities. Covid-19 did not stop at any border and the education sector was not spared. Educational communities scurried to continue their learning remotely while undergoing significant transformation. In a matter of weeks, new pedagogies, concepts, and modes of delivery were adopted. The past few months have taught us important lessons, not only in distance learning but also about the status of our global competence. Covid-19 revealed, in a way we did not previously realize, how essential are these global competencies.
