Who we are?
Welcome to the Agentic Career, Leadership, and Organization Development (ACLOD) lab! On this website, you can find an overview of our lab’s activities and the Agentic Human Resource Development Process (AHRDP) model. This lab uses Albert Bandura’s (2001) social cognitive theory of human agency (SCTHA) as a backbone of research activities with an aim to cross fertilize human agency theory building and its use in human resource development (HRD) settings. The main application areas are: career development (CD), leadership development (LD), and organization development (OD).
We aim to collaborate with researchers and practitioners who are interested in further developing the SCTHA by exploring how it can be utilized in HRD settings. More importantly, the goal of the ACLOD lab is to guide HRD practitioners, leaders, employees, and organizations through human agency-based research.

Mission, Vision, and Goals
Mission: The mission of our lab is to empower employees, leaders, and organizations to make better decisions, learn effectively, and collaborate through agentic and hopeful practices.
Vision: To become the global research hub for creating agentic and hopeful organizations by 2027.
Goals:
1. Develop and implement a new AI methodology that can enhance human-machine collaboration from a humanistic perspective.
2. Publish two must-read books on agentic and hopeful practices for employees, leaders, and organizations.
3. Create a machine-learning based platform to enhance employee career development and engagement.
4. Publish five evidence-based research publications on interventions that support agentic and hopeful practices.
5. Partner with at least one participating organization in each continent to implement our research and interventions.
6. Secure a $10M grant from the National Science Foundation to support our research initiatives.
