About Me

Hi! Let me tell you a bit about my past, my present, and my future.

My name is Adam Basile. I grew up in a small, rural town in Northeastern Pennsylvania by Lake Wallenpaupack. I have four older brothers who are some of the most successful and talented people I think I will ever meet, and I consider them huge role models in my life. I stayed as involved as possible in high school, participating in Cross Country, Track and Field, Marching Band, Show and Chamber Choir, Science Olympiad, Scholastics, Theatre, Student Council, and National Honor Society. I graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School in the class of 2023 and almost immediately left for college.

Right now, I am enrolled in the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University Park. When I am not doing homework or stuffing my face in the dining hall, I am probably in the library or on a bench outside reading a book. If you happen to see me, feel free to say hi! (I am still making friends here please say hi!) I love reading, especially fantasy and science fiction. My favorite authors include Brandon Sanderson, Neil Gaiman, and Andy Weir. I also love to play video games, ones rich with story and worldbuilding like Majora’s Mask, Persona 5, and Final Fantasy VI.

As for my future… well that is still in the works. I am currently planning on majoring in Premedicine and one day becoming a doctor in Oncology. My father suffered from various forms of cancer for most of his life until it eventually took it his life, so I have not only seen firsthand the pain it can cause but felt that pain myself. I would love to pursue a career when I can spend my days fighting for the lives of people like my father. However, I am still unsure about this, as I am with most things in life. As of right now, I do not have any experience in the medical field or anything remotely related to it, outside of AP Biology and AP Chemistry in high school. I am all too aware this could not be the fit for me, but I have some backup plans; I love storytelling and reading, so I believe I would really enjoy a career as some sort of English or Literature professor. Aside from this, I have grown up playing and loving video games as another form of creative storytelling, so a career in this industry would interest me as well.

Guess we just have to see what comes with time, right?
