The purpose of this intranet is to engage employees to connect across Outreach with peers, management, and leadership, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing. These connections will provide greater service to our learners, our communities, and each other. It will do the following:
- be a one-stop location for current, relevant, and searchable information about Outreach goals, initiatives, news, and employees;
- feature a customizable interface with a contemporary and intuitive design that is easy and fun to use;
- contain multidirectional communication tools to facilitate grassroots collaboration and knowledge sharing; and
- streamline common tasks through single sign-on, easy access to important links, and up-to-date Outreach information.
You will designate pages you go to often as “favorites” so you can get to them easily. A page you will go to often is the page for Academic Advising and Student Disability Services. Favorite that page at this time and then go to that area to familiarize yourself with the content.
Work on the following:
- Add any “favorite” groups that you wish but definitely add Academic Advising and Student Disability Services.
- Familiarize yourself with the Academic Advising and Student Disability Services page, especially the Advising-Processes and Procedures page.
- Understand how to use the Employee Directory. Look up team members on the directory so you become familiar with how the directory works.
