From time to time a student may request a change of adviser. An Advising Assistant Director will typically speak with both the adviser and the  student, and once it is determined that this is the best course of action, will e-mail wdcertificates@outreach.psu.edu to request the change. The Assistant Director will also inform the previous adviser and the new adviser, instructing the new adviser to initiate contact with the student.

When an adviser leaves the World Campus for another position, that adviser’s students are redistributed to other advisers on the same team. The Advising Assistant Director sends an e-mail to wdcertificates@outreach.psu.edu with the information, and also sends an e-mail to all of the students to inform them that they will be assigned a new adviser. As soon as new advisers receive the e-mail addresses of the new students, they send a welcome e-mail message to each student.
