Hemp and CBD Production

This is one of my favorite projects that I have been able to help out with. This study is looking at different colored plastic mulches and how they can affect CBD production within hemp. The colored plastics being used are white, blue, black, and a reflective silver plastic.

 

Each hole was made by a wheel on a planter, but each plant had to be hand-planted into the ground.

 

 

Above are the male pollen sacs on a hemp plant. To the right is the pistils on a female plant. This is important to identify because males are not wanted within the hemp field, only the females are wanted. If the male cannabis plants pollinate the female cannabis plants, then the production of CBD is reduced greatly.
