Hello all, my name is Ashley Beres and I’m a first-year student at Penn State University with an attended major in journalism. My hometown is Wayne, Pennsylvania, about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. My favorite things in the world are my friends, family, sports and music. I have an older sister, Kasey, who is an incoming senior at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. My dog is an eight-year-old golden retriever named Molly. I would probably do almost anything for my dog since she’s been by my side since I was nine years old.

My parents meant at Penn State when they went to school here. My Dad grew up in State College and my grandparents lived here up until four months ago, so I’ve been coming up to Penn State ever since I was little. I am an avid Philadelphia 76ers and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I would say Penn State football too, but I go to school here now, so that’s a given. My favorite sports would probably be football and basketball. I play the point and shooting guard positions in basketball. Lastly, music is a huge part of my life. I love attending concerts because I think live music is one of the best things in the world. My favorite artists are Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Conan Gray, and Post Malone. I can list a lot more artists, but that would be too long.

I’m excited to meet new people and experience many new adventures at Penn State. While the college transition is a little scary, I’m optimistic that good things will come eventually.
