B4. The teacher appropriately manages student learning and behavior.

The teacher appropriately manages student learning and behavior.

Managing student learning and behavior has been a tough task during virtual teaching. To help with monitoring behavior, the students and the teacher candidate agreed upon a verbal classroom callback. For example, this callback may be used when students may need redirecting during activities. This has proven useful compared to a physical attention getter because it is much more efficient in gaining the students attention, when needed.

For managing classroom behavior, the teacher candidate implemented a point reward system. Points are rewarded for behaviors such as hand raising, participating, and appropriate virtual/in-person behavior.
