The teacher designs coherent short range and long range opportunities for student learning and assessment.

The teacher plans lesson objectives and activities to be congruent with eachother. For example, during planning for the Weather and Climate unit, the teacher selected activities and then placed them so they may build upon eachother. The sequencing of these activities allowed for maximization of learning. The activities also tied into one another.
