The Penn State Altoona Motorsports Club is a student run organization tasked with designing and manufacturing a Baja race car for various Baja SAE competitions throughout the United States.

The SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) hosts various intercollegiate competitions across the country, and Baja is a an offroad-type vehicle that is made for endurance.

In the SAE Baja competitions, teams compete in various static & dynamic events that vary between the different competitions. These events usually consist of Design Presentations, Business Presentations, Cost Reports, and various Race Events. Memorable race events include Endurance Races, Drag (Acceleration) Races, and other events.

Our club helps students to learn about the various engineering methods, business practices, and competitive knowledge that goes into the SAE Baja competition as well as the industries they are working towards.

We compete annually in select SAE Baja competitions, where we design, build, and race with our very own Baja car. We also present ourselves as a business to a panel of judges in the Business Presentation.
