Constitution Day at Penn State Altoona: Sept. 17

On September 17, 1787, the Founding Fathers signed the U.S. Constitution.  The Constitution, along with the Bill of Rights and other amendments, define our government and guarantee our rights. Each year, on September 17, Americans celebrate Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.  Today marks the 232nd Anniversary of the signing.
At Penn State Altoona, join us at the Majors Fair from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the Slep Quad.  Look for the Center for Student and Civic Engagement table!  At the table, you can:
  • pick up a copy of the US Constitution, while supplies last
  • share what you find most valuable about the US Constitution on our sharing wall
  • challenge yourself to recite from memory the Preamble of the Constitution to the “judge” at the table; the first ten students to do so will receive a prize
  • sign up to receive information about voter registration (due for Pennsylvanians by October 7, 2019)
Additionally, stop by Slep Fireside from 12:00-1:00 p.m.to watch the PBS Documentary It’s a Free Country.
