Penn State police hosting Coffee with a Cop events across Pennsylvania on Oct. 2

National Coffee with a Cop Day is Oct. 2, and Penn State police officers are celebrating by giving away coffee and snacks at 22 campuses across Pennsylvania. The Altoona officers will participate by sharing coffee, water and cookies at the Slep Student Center’s central common area from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.

Penn State employees and students are invited to stop by to grab some free refreshments while getting to know the police officers who serve the campus. Employees and students also can ask questions and learn about the programs and services offered by University Police, a division of University Police and Public Safety.

“Penn State police officers host community events throughout the year at all of the campuses we serve, and National Coffee with a Cop Day is another way for our officers to show appreciation to our community,” said Charlie Noffsinger, assistant vice president of University Police and Public Safety. “This event is also a unique opportunity for our officers, who are geographically dispersed, as it allows them to come together on Oct. 2 for a common goal, which is community connection.”

Employees and students are encouraged to arrive early, as refreshments are available while supplies last.
