Need a last-minute costume? The Collegiate Review has got your back. Here are nine costumes you can make from your closet with minimal effort.

Penn State Super Fan

As a Penn State Altoona Student, you probably have a lot of merch to show you pride as a Nittany Lion. Isaac models the look of the Penn State Super Fan! Get out your foam fingers, face paint and baseball caps to top off this look.

Bernie Sanders meme

October gets chilly especially as we near the 31st. Why not bundle up like Bernie? You can stay warm and toasty in this iconic look. Just grab your gray coat, black pants, a pair boots, glasses, mittens (or fluffy socks) and your mask. Put on a scowl on your face and you are ready to go.

Cowboy

Flannel, boots, and jeans are Fall Fashion staples. You see just about everyone right wearing a similar outfit to this. Just grab a cowboy hat to make this look into a costume. If you want to get a little more creative use this as a base for a scare crow. Add some patched make up to your face, some safety pined patches of fabric to your pants and some yellow straws to your sleeves to act as hay stuffing. Thank you, Niko for modeling this look.

Michael Phelps Meme

The 2016 Summer Olympics seems like a distant memory now that it is the Fall of 2021, but to can still have fun with this meme. All you need is a warm-up jacket or a windbreaker and put on your biggest frown. Thank you again Isaac for being such a Good Sport!

80’s Jazzercize Instructor

With a one! And a two! And a three! And a four! You will be strutting out the door! In the jazzy fit you will not be able to resist the beat! All you need for this is a one-piece swimsuit or leotard, a pair of weather appropriate sports pants and a pair of leg warmers or flashy socks. Pop on some sneakers and put some go-gos in your hair! Now you are ready to move and groove all night long!

Audrey Hepburn

This actress and fashion icon is most recognizable for her role in the film “Breakfast at Tiffinay’s.”  When she wasn’t on screen, she still had that star powered style with her. You can emulate her casual fun look by popping on a black turtleneck, a pair of black slacks and a red lip. If you are a blond and love this look Marilyn Monroe did too! Same idea just place curls in your hair capture Marilyn’s signature look!

Pirate

Argh maties, don’t get caught swabbing the deck! You’ll be hunting for lost treasure if you put on this costume. This look only requires a pair black slacks, a white shirt, and a bandana. As a bonus, pop a corset overtop that shirt to elevate your pirate status to Captain!

Witch

I’ll get you my pretty, and your little dog too! You’ll be hunting down Dorothy for the ruby slippers in this costume. Think unhappy thoughts and cloak yourself in darkness, but you don’t need the cloak. All you need to capture the witch spirit is a dark colored top, a pair of dark pants or a skirt and a pair black boot. You can add the hat and cloak, but you don’t really need to. I think Rivka got a little carried away with this one!

Disco Dancing Queen

Feel the beat from the tambourine! As flare pants and halter tops are coming back in style, this look is easy for most people following current fashion trends. Just throw on your bell bottoms with a halter top and some platforms and you’re ready to have the time of your life. Pom-pom earrings optional!
