Nittany Lions continue hunt for first women’s soccer win of season, drop fourth straight

The Penn State Altoona women’s soccer team lost their fourth straight game to start the season on Sunday, Sept 10. The game was played at Spring Run Stadium in Altoona, with the Nittany Lions being defeated by the St. Vincent Bearcats, 2-1.

A positive for the Nittany Lions did emerge when Sophia Nelson scored the first goal by an Altoona player this season, in the 21st minute. She booted it past St. Vincent keeper Madison Arnold. Previously, the team had suffered defeats by the scores of 7-0, 5-0, and 11-0.

Altoona keeper Nicole Schwartz made seven saves in the loss.
