A group of South Africa’s African Americans perform in the Michaign building in Penn State Altoona on Friday Feb.23. They love to perform all around the world and country as well. For the performance it was a good experience. They really got the crowd into it from the beginning by not using instruments but instead clapping along with the crowd and being energetic. The music starts to pick up and their voices are very loud as I can’t hear my surrounding sounds. They then reverse back to chants, and the crowd still being energetic mimics them. By the end of their performance comes in the lights, as they dance, I can only see their faces and movements because of how bright and pretty the colors are. At the end of the performance, they do Boys (Red), and the Girls (Blue) faced off in a dance off. The background changes from Red to Blue as the Men and Women come out. The music picks up and the color changes to orange and then they compete. The girls end up winning the dance off, but it was very competitive. Finally, that was the experience at the Black History event!
