Dreams Go On is a local therapeutic riding facility located in Hollidaysburg that provides therapeutic horseback riding with licensed instructors for individuals who are physically as well as those who are emotionally challenged or who receive therapy services. Program coordinator Debbie Kelly originally started a therapeutic riding facility called “High Hopes” over 35 years ago which was then changed to “Dreams Go On” after she decided she wanted to start her own facility. They currently serve over 50 individuals in the Blair County area on four different ride days a week in six week sessions from March to October. They currently have a waiting list for riders wanting to get involved as well as constantly looking for volunteers to help groom, lead and do many other things during their sessions. They enjoy doing all kinds of activities with their riders such as playing baseball with the players from the Altoona Curve baseball team, making pretend stores, trail rides and much more. Instructor Melinda Anderson mentioned how great it is to see her students grow through the challenges they face and see them feel good about themselves in the end.
