Location: Sheetz Corporate – Claysburg, PA
Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The Energy Engineer will develop and support energy reduction programs by analyzing usage data collected from remote monitoring systems, managing energy project rollouts, conducting energy audits of existing facilities, researching new technologies, and working with cross-functional teams to underscore energy costs in the decision making process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
- Direct and lead the Sheetz energy analytics program including initial system development, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Leverage energy data from multiple sources to develop meaningful visualizations and reports that will aid in identifying trends and irregularities at the store, equipment, and billing level.
- Manage multiple energy efficiency projects simultaneously. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: research and development (R&D), coordinating internal resources and vendors, measurement and verification (M&V), soliciting requests for proposals (RFPs), maintaining comprehensive project documentation, meeting budgetary objectives, and utility rebate administration.
- Perform comprehensive energy audits at Sheetz facilities to identify efficiency and cost savings opportunities within HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, water, and other systems.
- Investigate new energy efficient technologies and report on potential energy savings and operational impact.
- Quantify financial impact of equipment and building design on energy costs.
- Advise internal departments to practice fiscally responsible decision making.
REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical), Energy, or related specialized field required
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in energy, data analytics, and project management required
- Working knowledge of basic energy principles required
- Demonstrated experience with data analytics and visualization tools required
- Demonstrated project management experience required
- Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tableau preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- CEA Certification preferred
