Associate Electrical Test Engineer

Will consider ENTRY LEVEL Candidates-If you have strong trouble shooting circuits boards to the component level and ability to read schematics!

Support daily production operations through troubleshooting PCB Assemblies to the component level and working with repair and test operators to return repaired PCB Assemblies to the production cycle. Support daily production operations by applying electronic engineering principles and troubleshooting skills to a diverse range of test systems, to maintain production flow.  Assist and perform multiple engineering assignments that require the application of diversified electronic/test engineering practices.  As required, lead and/or assist test engineers in the design specifications to develop specific test systems for functional acceptance and verification of manufactured products. Develop skills to advance into more senior engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair failed PCB’s and field warranty returns as directed.
  • Component-level troubleshooting for PCBA’s and related test equipment to support production needs.
  • Provide production and engineering support by troubleshooting problems and implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow.
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
  • Participate in Improvement Workshops (Kaizens).
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area (5S).
  • Continually seek new opportunities to improve both processes and products.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Support the manufacturing floor as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform as a self-starter to drive continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility.
  • Experience in electrical / electromechanical engineering, or a comparable combination of training and experience.
  • Three (3) years of specifically related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of in-circuit test (ICT) systems, LabView, Visual Basic, C++, or other software development tools would be beneficial

Summary:

The Field Service Trainee (FST) works for up to six months with senior engineers to master field service responsibilities and acquire KHS product knowledge. The Field Service trainee performs on-site installation, startup, troubleshooting and repair of KHS USA beverage and food processing, filling and packaging equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.):

· Performs assembly operations on mechanical components and electrical panels; installation of electrical machine wiring and electronic controls.

· Effectively uses hand tools.

· Studies and interprets schematics and drawings.

· Receives trip assignment from inside schedulers; makes travel arrangements to arrive on time according to customer requirements.

· Interviews customer to determine machine problems; performs basic troubleshooting on machine functioning; verifies where problem is located.

· Interfaces with Engineering, Production and Project Management to solve technical problems or project issues.

· Works under the direction of senior technicians to start-up new machines, checks power system and wiring; observes lockout tag out process to check machine components functionality; establishes that product is moving through properly; communicates with internal staff to solve technical problems or project issues.

· Prepares concise, accurate, professional and timely Equipment Acceptance Reports, Service Work Reports, Expense Reports and other support documentation for customer visits; communicates with internal staff to report on service activities; completes and submits reports within 3 weeks after the end of a job.

· Provides management with timely verbal and/or written communications regarding immediate needs of parts, documentation, other potential issues on site.

· Follows KHS USA, Inc. administration, workplace, and safety policies, procedures and practices; understands and follows customer’s rules for safety, security or other policies.

· Wears appropriate uniform, maintains professional appearance, conduct, attitude and positively promotes KHS USA to all customers.
