Job Description:
Responsibilities include engineering, engineering management, business development, project

new Philadelphia office. The position will be involved in multiple tasks ranging from engineering,
business development, management and project coordination. The job duties may include but not
be limited to:
• Engineering – analyze and participate in the development of technical specifications and
procurement documents, operations & maintenance (O&M) plans, rail fleet management
plans, studies, and schedules and budgets. Review and analyze safety systems and
processes as well as planning and reliance. Perform engineering design reviews. Conduct
reviews of supplier quality systems. For testing programs, conduct First Article Inspection
audits of critical suppliers, resolution of engineering issues related to the testing protocols.
• Business development – provide input and assistance in business development for the
development of the new company Philadelphia office, and the duties may include marketing
and bids search, setting up teaming opportunities, participating meetings and business
development events, preparing statement of qualifications and proposals, and other
business development related tasks.
• Management and administration support to the company new office for activities involving
office setup, procedure development, regulation compliance, etc.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and professional engineer (PE) preferred
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, engineering programs and CADD capacity is
desired.

Summary 

System Protection personnel install and maintain the technology used in the protection of the Electric Grid. These positions will install and maintain the control systems and protective devices. Data communication technology is also a big part of their responsibility as smart microprocessor relays provide information to Operating Centers. Cyber Security applications are applied as well as NERC compliance maintenance regulations. These positions will require the completion of the System Protection Development Program.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Install and maintain protection systems that protect and monitor the transmission grid, the distribution grid and generating units.
  • Ratio, meggar, set taps and take in service readings in current transformers that deliver signals to protection and metering systems.
  • Program advanced microprocessor based equipment as well as verifying the logic settings in the relay setting matches the logic diagrams issued.
  • Troubleshoot complex control circuits.
  • Commission each data point that is transmitted from the Substation to the appropriate operations center.
  • Apply cyber security measures to assure our protection systems are secure from outside intrusion.

· Lead the team on microelectronics package design, optimize or streamline assembly processes, process improvement, critical to quality parameter determination and R & D to production phase

· Review the statement of work (SOW), drawings, and specifications from customer during the initial inquiry and provide inputs to the project engineer on process, material, and labor

· Generate process recipes of standard microelectronics interconnection processes such as wire bonding, ball bonding, flip-chip, wedge wire bonding, ribbon bonding, surface mount technologies, pick and place components, solder printing or dispensing, encapsulations, dam and fill, and under filling

· Perform statistical data analysis and risks assessment

· Oversee the production and R & D activities on floor to ensure the product meet requirements at all time

· Assist engineering team on the selection of assembly process materials such as PCB, encapsulant, underfilling, die and SMT attachment interface, dam and filling, various protective coatings, lid attachment, lead frame, and marking of finished assemblies

· Support quality control activities such as vendor/supplier audit, ISO certification, ITAR, process traveler, process documentations and instructions, ECN, and safety related matters

· Provide assistance in automation the process cycles to reduce cost and cycle time

· Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to address production, equipment, critical to quality and safety related matters

· Coordinate all production related activities with floor supervisors, assembly technicians, schedular and maintenance persons

Requirements or Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Material or equivalent, previous micro-electronics, electronic assembly or clean room experience plus

· Must be familiar or able to run PCB Computer added design software such as SolidWorks PCB, Altium, Allegro, Autodesk EAGLE, Fusion 360, Express PCB Plus or equivalent

· Programing skills to accommodate wire bonding, encapsulation, pick and place processes

· Knowledge on MIL-STD 883, MIL-STD-1580, MIL-PRF-38535 and relevant JEDEC specifications and requirements related to electronic parts

· Strong working knowledge of packaging and wafer fabrication

· Understanding and experience in selection, procurement, manufacturing, use and testing of high reliability microelectronics for various military and commercial applications

· Relevant experience in digital or optical microelectronics manufacturing or design

· Minimum 1-5 years of microelectronics industry engineering is required

· Prior experience with ERP system is a plus

· Some demonstrated leadership skill
